i like pain killers. ha ha.

those who know a bit about surgery know that you have to wear stockings to prevent blood clots, those who have seen my legs (a rare occasion, to be sure) know they are not small yet folloing measuring for said stockings i was given small/regular, god only knows how big your legs have to be to warrant a larger size and what do the stick figures use?

here end my pointless post.

meh.

anyway, i may well be going home today, just waiting for the doc's say-so.

chipper.

i will disclose other feelings on my stay in hospital when i am out of here...

well i've made it through surgery!! i'm actually feeling like a right invalid at the mo, movement very limited, in fair bit of pain, waiting for the morning drug round. still don't know how the surgery went, got to wait for the surgeon to do his/her visit later. on the antibiotics now to try and prevent any infection from what was around the appendix, infection would be bad as it would mean staying iin here longer. i really hope i can get out of here tomorrow as it isn't fun.

I've been pretty busy lately what with starting back at uni and all.  Loads of work on at the moment to get done and I start my next placement on Tuesday with the district nurses.

Sooooooo sooooooooooooooo busy.

On a plus note, I've nearly purchased a book case which is something I've always wanted.  I've made the space, now just need to go and pick it up at some time soon then all my books will be on lovely display and I'll have some room for a change.......

Will my room be tidy and organised.... surely not.

On another plus note, I now have my Rocky style hoodie for running in, handy as it's getting pretty chilly (and rather dark) on the early morning runs.

Getting a little chilly in the mornings now, think I'm gonna have to invest in a rocky style hoodie & beanie for running....

But not the dog.

And you can keep the matching tracksuit bottoms too.

And the subsequent fight.

And Rocky's stupid rubber ball... you can keep that too.

So yeah, pretty chilly this morning.....

Dammit lads you were shocking, I mean really shocking... jesus.

WHY?!

Something I have noticed lately (well for a long time really) is that very few other people on the road seem to be enjoying themselves in their car.  What I mean is, you look at other drivers and they are just sat there, waiting to drive on, or driving on looking glum or just looking glum in general.

WHY?

When I'm in my car I love nothing better than to turn the music up and sing along and I mean SING ALONG, not just mumble to myself as I'm driving, I mean window down, music up, couldn't give a flying frag who sees singing along (with some head banging sometimes...) and what do I get for my trouble?  Funny looks.  Funny looks from people in other cars who seem glum.

BALLS TO YOU MR GLUM, I'M ROCKIN' OUT!

Occasionally you might see a lass singing along to something but that's usually about it.  In fact, it goes from one extreme to the other you get the youths who try to look cool, play the music REALLY GODDAMN loud from their clapped out Nova to those that, well, look really really glum.  Hell, if you're stuck in a car going to and from work, at rush hour, 5 days a week, bloody well enjoy it.  Get out some classic AC/DC, stick the CD in, whack the volume up to the MAX and ROCK OUT, balls to everyone else, they're just dull dull dull, and if someone else sees you, gives you a funny look?  Sod em!  You'll probably never see them again.  The only thing missing is a great big open highway to zoom down.

Come on Britain, we know you love the music, SHOW IT!

Just got back from watching Atonement at the flicks and bloody hell if that isn't one of the best films I've watched in ages.

It's one of those films you can't say too much about as it would spoil it, but one scene I can write about is the much praised Dunkirk scene.  The entire scene is one cut and it is seriously impressive, I've read that it captures the exact spirit of what that day was like (it is the complete opposite of Saving Private Ryan), the tension of the lads waiting to get home but unable to, the grouping together to find strength in one another, some relying on faith, some fighting amongst themselves, others just getting pissed and trying to make the best of the situation.  One comment I read is that it is visual poetry, however you describe the scene, it is one that will stay in my memory for a long time to come.

As for the rest of the film, yes the story was very strong, the acting was top notch from everyone (even Keira!), this is a film I won't forget in a hurry.

Just got back from watching 1408, yeah, I enjoyed it but Bambi was scarier (that bit where Bambi's mother gets it.... man, I still shed a tear).

One thing, the hotel pretended there wasn't a 13th floor by calling the 13th floor the 14th, this would mean that room 1408 should actually have been 1308, is there any significance to this or am I just looking too far into it?

Mmmmm, my hair is getting longer, it's now getting to the point where I have to do something with it to stop it looking a mess, sadly whatever I do with it, it looks a mess. :-p

For the last oooh 8 years, I've only had 1 hair cut, number 2 on top, 1 round the back and sides, I quite fancy something different for a change so on the advice of a friend I'm growing it a little to get it cut in a different style, but... what I'll do with it in the meantime with it I dunno but if I don't now, I never will, it'll all have fallen out!

I was actually in a quite a good mood yesterday evening, so good in fact that I noticed my car was full of REALLY depressing music.... is that a sign as to what my mood has been like lately?  Turn the stereo on, skip track - too depressing, skip track - too depressing, skip track - too depressing etc etc etc.......

Will change the music later for something a bit more upbeat and enjoyable.
